Designed as a gift book with color images throughout, it was inspired by the first edition, exploring why Jesus' scars were present at all post-resurrection. This book explores the 15 uses of the Greek typhos (scar), only one of which referred to Jesus' scars. The other 14 uses mean example, pattern, and model. Inadvertently occluded by the "doubting Thomas" story throughout church history, the real reasons for Jesus' scars have not been fully explored by commentators ... until now!

This new title (2025), is a highly creative work that revolves entirely around light, from creation, to the Tabernacle, to the Temple, to Acts 2, to us — including those with inner damage whose dark lives become great testimonies of the transforming power of God's light and love . . . thus the title's phrase, Scar Light!
This book was a dozen years in the making, starting with my human research at Harris County Jail in Houston (2009–2012) for my doctoral dissertation. This is a "one-stop shop" for caregivers dealing with emotional and psychological damage. I coined the term "scar theology" based on Jesus' surviving scars at his resurrection.
This was my first book, with the first edition coming out in 2010, to be updated with a new cover and enhanced content in 2022. This book explores some of the many images of Christ in Scripture, starting with the famous "Carpenter" image, telling the story of my first encounter in the very scary "Carpenter's Shop"!
This is the Student Workbook for my Family Systems curriculum. Currently, all classes have been studio recorded (see the "Videos" page). The videos are intended for both students and their families to watch, and then follow the workbook that has more detail. By involving both inmates and their family members, they can study, learn, grow, and heal together! NOTE: This curriculum was just approved as an ITP program with the TDCJ!
The Unexplored, Special Message of Jesus' Scars from John 20:25 is my latest book (2026) that continues the theme of all my work, which is addressing various aspects of emotional scars. Originally titled just The Special Message of Jesus' Scars, this second edition is a major upgrade, an academic book, adding 20 pages, all-new, deeper research, and a wider focus.
Give the gift of light, love, and hope to your loved ones!
